In cooperation with the New York Guernsey Breeders’ Cooperative, the New York Guernsey Youth Association was created for any Guernsey breeder or enthusiast who is under the age of 21.
Under the direction of the Junior State Advisor, youth members are led by a five member officer team and meet throughout the year at Guernsey events. Youth members are eligible to apply for state and national awards, scholarships, and take part in different events throughout the year.

NEW YORK GUERNSEY ACHIEVEMENT APPLICATION
The New York Guernsey Youth Achievement Award honors youth members who have excelled in both Guernsey activities as well as their personal lives. Each year, over 20 members record their herd information, highlights of their education, leadership positions and then answer questions based on their dairy project. Out of all the applicants, one outstanding candidate is selected as the Achievement Award Winner each year. Due March 15.
NEW YORK GUERNSEY CALF SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
The Calf Scholarship Award Program is sponsored by the New York State Guernsey Breeders Association for the purpose of encouraging those who do not presently own Guernseys to become involved with the Guernsey Breed. A purebred Guernsey Calf will be awarded to the applicant who shows interest in the Guernsey breed and who has demonstrated the capabilities of developing the animal to its fullest potential. Applicant must be age 9 – 15 as of January 1st of the application year. You do not have to belong to 4 – H, FFA, or a breed club to participate. Due March 1.
NEW YORK GUERNSEY LACTATION LEADER PRODUCTION AWARD
The Lactation Leader Award honors the top producing Guernsey in milk, fat and protein production. The honorees can be in any lactation, however the record submitted MUST have been completed the last calendar year. Before submitting, please include the DHIA record completed as of 12/31. Up to 3 cows per Junior/Farm can be entered for this award. Juniors and Senior/Farm entries will be separate divisions. Award winners will be recognized at the Annual Banquet. Due March 15.
NEW YORK GUERNSEY PRINCESS APPLICATION
The New York Guernsey Princess represents New York Guernsey breeders at a variety of functions and events. Candidates must be between the ages of 17 and 21 by January 1st of the year they run and are required to attend the New York State Fair, Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet and represent New York at the National Guernsey Convention in June. Due March 15.
