Our Association

The New York Guernsey Breeders’ Cooperative, Inc., also known as the New York Guernsey Breeders’ Association, or NYGBA, was formed by a group of dairymen who wanted to come together to improve, promote, and better the Guernsey breed.

Today, led by a 12 member Board of Directors, more than 150 Guernsey enthusiasts from all over New York and the northeast are members of the NYGBA and are active in sales, shows, and Guernsey functions that are held throughout the year.

Many New York Guernsey members are also active within the American Guernsey Association where they hold leadership positions, have been honored with distinguished awards, and are known throughout the nation and world for their Guernsey herds.

Membership is open to any individual who currently owns, breeds or possesses an interest in the Guernsey breed. To become a member, simply fill out a membership application and mail it to the membership secretary with all dues included.

All members of the NYGBA receive a free subscription to the Guernsey Journal by Purebred Publishing, quarterly newsletters from the NYGBA, voting power in state association decisions, opportunities to apply for production and breeding awards, as well as invitations to all association activities.
